WP Report
Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM)
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on VCM contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 190 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce VCM as well as capacities for derivative products.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of VCM in 2010 were each almost 35 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 70% in 2010, remaining flat from 2009. Global VCM consumption is estimated to have increased by 5.2% in 2010; demand is expected to grow an average of 4.4% per year from 2010 to 2015, slowing to 4.2% per year from 2015 to 2020. Average global utilization rates are expected to increase to the low-80s range by the end of the forecast period.
Vinyl chloride is used primarily for production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), accounting for 99% of global VCM consumption. VCM is also used as a copolymer with other monomers such as vinyl acetate.
