WP Report
Refinery Propylene
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on Refinery Propylene contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 165 pages. There is also a table showing projected catalytic cracking and coker capacity additions by producer, location, and (average daily) capacity of the increments, as well as the major global catalytic cracking and coker units by producer and total average daily (base year) capacities.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of refinery propylene in 2010 were each approximately 40 million metric tons. World refinery propylene consumption is projected to grow by 4.2% in 2011 and average growth of 2.3% per year from 2010 to 2020. Chemicals consumption will have the fastest average growth with 2.8% per year during the same period.
Chemical uses accounted for about 61% of total refinery propylene consumption in 2010, followed by alkylate with 24%. The following pie chart shows world consumption of refinery propylene in 2010 by end use.
