Polyester Solid-State Resins
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on Polyester Solid-State Resins contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 135 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce Polyester Solid-State Resins.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of polyester solid-state (PET) resins in 2010 were approximately 15.6 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 71.8% in 2010, down from 76% in 2009. PET resins consumption is estimated to have increased by 5.3% in 2010 from 2009; it is forecast to grow an average of 5.7% per year from 2010 to 2015, with slower growth of 4.5% per year from 2015 to 2020. Average utilization rates are expected to increase to the high-80s range by the end of the forecast period.
The primary use of PET solid-state resins is for PET bottle production, accounting for around 93% of global consumption in 2010. Other applications for polyester solid-state resins include special "hot-fill" capability applications (incorporating polyethylene naphthalene (PEN) monomer), amorphous PET (thermoformed into cups, trays, lids and 'clam shells') and crystallized PET (primarily for dual-ovenable trays for prepared frozen foods).
