WP Report
Propylene Oxide
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on Propylene Oxide contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 120 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce Propylene Oxide as well as capacities for derivative products.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of propylene oxide in 2010 were each approximately 6.6 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 76% in 2010. Global propylene oxide consumption is estimated to have increased by 9.2% in 2010; it is forecast to average growth of over 5.8% per year from 2010 to 2015 as demand recovers, followed by slower growth of just under 2.4% per year from 2015 to 2020. Average global utilization rates are expected to gradually increase from the mid-70s range to the low-90s range by the end of the forecast period.
The largest end uses of propylene oxide are polyether polyols, which accounted for 66% of global propylene oxide consumption in 2010, followed by propylene glycol; other applications for propylene oxide include production of glycol ethers and higher propylene glycols.
The following pie chart shows world consumption of propylene oxide by end use:
