Nylon Fibers

This World Petrochemical (WP) report on Nylon Fibers contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 145 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce Nylon Fibers.

Abstract

Global production and consumption of nylon fibers in 2010 were approximately 3.6 million and 3.5 million metric tons, respectively. Global capacity utilization was 68% in 2010, an increase from 2009. Global consumption of nylon fibers increased by 6% in 2010 from 2009; it is forecast to grow rather slowly from 2010 to 2015, averaging 2.5% per year growth, and then increasing to 5.4% per year from 2015-2010. Average global utilization rates are expected to range from the upper-60s range to the upper-70s range throughout the forecast period.

Nylon 6 fibers accounted for almost 60% of total global nylon fibers consumption in 2010, and nylon 66 fibers, for about 26% of total consumption.
