WP Report
Methyl Methacrylate (MMA)
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on MMA contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 110 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce MMA, as well as capacities for derivative products.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of MMA in 2010 were both approximately 3.0 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 81% and remained flat in 2010. MMA consumption is estimated to have increased by 6% in 2010 from 2009; it is expected to grow an average of 4.1% per year from 2010 to 2015, slowing to 3.5% per year from 2015 to 2020. Average global utilization rates are expected to gradually increase from the mid-70s range to the low 90s range by 2020.
Acrylic sheet production accounted for about 42% of global MMA consumption in 2010, followed by molding/extrusion and surface coatings. Other applications for MMA include emulsion polymers, impact modifiers, polyesters, and transesterification.
The following pie chart shows world consumption of MMA by end use:
