WP Report
Diphenylmethane Diisocyanate (MDI)
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on MDI contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 110 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce MDI, as well as capacities for derivative products.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of MDI in 2010 were each approximately 3.9 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 70.2% in 2010, a considerable increase from 2009 due to a larger increase in production than capacity. Global MDI consumption is estimated to have decreased by 16.6% in 2010 from 2009; consumption is expected to average growth of almost 7.2% per year from 2010 to 2015, slowing to 4.2% per year from 2015 to 2020. Average global utilization rates are expected to range between the mid-70s range to the mid-80s range throughout the forecast period.
Polyurethane resins make up approximately 86% of total MDI consumption.
