Cyclohexane
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on Cyclohexane contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. Abstract
Global production and consumption of cyclohexane in 2010 were both approximately 4.6 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization averaged 72% in 2010, a considerable increase from 67% in 2009. Consumption of cyclohexane in 2010 is estimated to have increased by almost 10% from 2009; it is expected to average growth of 3.6% per year from 2010 to 2015, and 2.3% per year from 2015 to 2020. Average global utilization rates are expected to increase from the high-70s range to the low-90s range during the forecast period.
Caprolactam accounted for about 63% of global cyclohexane consumption in 2010, followed by adipic acid with 27%, and cyclohexanone with 6% of total consumption.
