ABS/SAN Resins

This World Petrochemical (WP) report on ABS/SAN Resins contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections; production, consumption and trade are estimated for ABS and SAN Resins separately in the analysis. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 132 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce ABS/SAN Resins.

Abstract

Global production and consumption of ABS/SAN Resins (total) in 2010 was approximately 7.6 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 76.5% in 2010; this was a slight increase from 2009 due to a larger increase in production than capacity. Global ABS/SAN Resins consumption growth is estimated to rise in 2010 from 2009; global consumption is expected to increase by 4.2% per year from 2010 to 2015, slowing to 2.5% per year from 2015 to 2020. Utilization rates are expected to increase slowly but gradually throughout the forecast period.

Large volume applications for ABS/SAN resins include appliance and automobile components, which together account for about 50% of the total global consumption.
