May 2010

Dear DCP Subscribers,

This month’s DCP Newsletter brings you the latest DCP news and a guide to help you quickly locate search tips in the archive of past DCP newsletters.

DCP News

The DCP research team has recently completed processing survey results and updating capacity data for our major annual updates for the DCP-United States and for DCP-Middle East & Africa. The new data were loaded on the website at the end of last month. The book editions will be available in June.

I will be in SRI Consulting’s booth at the SLA Annual Conference and INFO-EXPO next month in New Orleans. I hope you will stop by and visit. We will be happy to answer your questions about SRI Consulting programs and give you a demo of the SRIC website (including DCP, of course). The INFO-EXPO Hall will be open June 13-15, 2010, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. You can find us in Booth #944.

Guide to Search Tips in the Newsletter Archive

Over the last few months, the DCP newsletters have provided a variety of search tips. Here is an index of them by topic with a link to the newsletter article.

Over 14,000 individual capacity numbers are included in the DCP database for more than 250 chemicals and polymers.

The DCP Express Search makes plant location searches easier than ever. Searches can be expanded to include nearby towns.

What do we mean when we label a product Regular or General & Compounded?

Search for Plants in a Postal Code (Express Search)

May 2009

The DCP Express Search includes a feature that allows you to find cities that are near to each other by looking at the postal code.

Searching for Company Subsidiaries

March 2009

One of the most powerful features of the DCP Express Search is the ability to find subsidiaries of parent companies. This search finds any owner including those that do not have their own DCP listings (e.g., investment firms or holding companies). It also provides the ability to download the products made by the subsidiaries.

Searching for Multiple Products in a Single Search

August 2009

The DCP Advanced Search provides two search boxes that make it easy to search for two different chemicals at the same time. However, what if you want to see three or more related chemicals at the same time? This newsletter article shows you how.

The current and archived newsletters are available by clicking on the “Newsletters” link found on the left side menu bar on most pages in the SRIC website (chemical.ihs.com):
